Council is in session

Every morning and every evening, without fail, the cockies and corellas regrouped into their raucous bunch. Mornings were for foraging in the grass, searching out tasty tidbits to sustain their day. In the evenings, they came to the tree tops to survey their land, chatter and squawk about the day just passed, fight amongst themselves to assert their dominance, and maybe to lay their plans for tomorrow. Except tomorrow would be the same as today and the day before.

I learned that cockies and corellas can interbreed, and it seems obvious to me now, given they often hang out together. Mostly though, the interbreeding happens in areas of more human modification, around towns and built up areas, because the birds’ shrinking habitat brings them together even more.
